Open Call for Artists to Grow Land Art commenting on contemporary farming issues…

Gram Art Project is working in Paradsinga village from past some years with farmers and villagers through various Art interventions. We realized that Land Art can comment strongly on the farming issues as it  also talks about soil, seeds, water & farmers, uniting the community at one place irrespective of cast, gender & power.

Gram Art Project invites artists to collaborate with farmers & social workers from central India to discuss about local & wider farming issues to create powerful images and grow it in the farming land of Paradsinga.  We will provide artists with train travel, food, accommodation & work support..

The residency will start on 3rd of Nov & will conclude on 15th of Nov 2016 where 5 different teams, each team consisting of an Artist, Farmer and Social worker will work on the 5 different images to be grown. The Artist will collaborate with social worker and farmer, discuss about the local farming difficulties & know about the concerns the social workers are working on, conceptualize the information in form of the image which will be then grown on the fields…

When these image’s will grow and the crop will be ready to harvest by December, it will be celebrated as “Gram Dhara Chitra Utsav”- A Land Art Festival, which will be open to the public nationally & internationally. This festival will include the local art, craft & food mela with farmers market & a seed festival…
